SNOW!

Ok, so I know I'm a dork, I grew up in Pennsylvania but I miss the snow! Last night (and it's still flurrying a bit) we got a few inches of snow in Charlotte. EVERYTHING is closed, including my work, so I get to be a slack ass all day and sit around the house and play in the snow! It's very unusual weather for here so of course everyone is freaking out. You should have seen Walmart yesterday. I got to work at around 1:30 and the parking lot was packed, there were no shopping carts, and the lines for the registers were halfway down the food center main aisle. Every school in a 50 mile radius is closed and so are half the businesses. For 3" of snow! Anyway, I'm going to go outside and take some pictures cause it is really pretty and I will post them later today... adios!

Here we go...

Today is a big day for Steelers fans worldwide. It's time to chew up some Ravens and spit them back out and let them know their place! We are having a little parrrrrrtay at our house to cheer on the Steelers from Charlotte. Our guest of honor is the dancing Monkey my mom got for Dan. He sings the Here We Go song. So, I leave you today with a picture of said Monkey.

Nerve Wracking Day

So, Dan had his yearly physical on Wednesday, and it's typically just a couple of pokes and prods and some blood drawn and you're done. So, I called him in the afternoon after I knew he'd be home to confirm that everything was a-o.k. Well, it wasn't. Dan said the Physician's Assistant who did his physical found a little bump (in a not so comfy place to have one...we'll leave it at that) and wanted it ultrasounded to make sure it wasn't anything to worry about. Naturally he and I were both nervous about it... plus the potential for something being wrong (even if the doctor isn't that worried about it) really makes you think. So today I went with him to get the ultrasound and thankfully the technician didn't seem to think there was anything wrong though we won't know for sure for about a week. Fingers and toes will be permanently crossed until the doctor's office calls!! Other than that, it was just another weekday, except of course that it's freezing cold outside (anything below 25 is ridiculous here!!!) and a plane crashed into the Hudson river. Can you believe those poor people had to stand in a freezing cold river on the wing of a plane waiting for rescue?? They couldn't even wear shoes and coats! Unreal! Anyway, that's all for me, I'm off to watch a little tv. Until later...

oh Tuesday

Another day, another blog. Amazing that I am actually doing more than one! The last several weeks have been pretty busy for us, since we had Christmas and all. We ventured to the Burgh this year (since we are having to alternate holidays to be fair and all...) for Christmas and had a great time. Back in October Dan won a contest at work for writing new business and ended up winning a weekend getaway trip worth $500. The company said we could spend the money any way we wanted to we rented a full size car and traveled in luxury (ha). We stayed at my parents house and in typical Cecil fashion they fed us like pigs :) We spent Christmas day relaxing around the house and watching my parents big screen tv and then went to dinner at Brandon and Bonnie's new apartment. It was a fairly uneventful affair (save for a few snide comments by someone whose name won't be mentioned here...) and the food was yummy. We even got to go to the Melting Pot for our (belated) birthday dinner and the George Washington Inn for some tasty food and great views.
We spent Friday and Saturday visiting with family and old friends and of course stuffed ourselves with Eat n Park two times. One of the highlights was definitely the barn rat reunion at Rick's in Murrysville. A couple of beer tubes were consumed and of course several drunken pictures were taken :) It was so great to see all the barn rats, especially Elaina who I haven't seen in many years!!
Anyway, after our fun-filled weekend in Pittsburgh, we headed home and back to work :( I suppose I shouldn't complain though, since at least Dan and I both have jobs :) Anyhew, I'm peacing out for now, SVU is on! Holla!

STEELERS

Wow... my first attempt at blogging. I figured maybe it was time to give it a try, since almost everyone I know has a blog and I'm starting to feel a little left out :) Anyway, I don't really know what to blog about. Do I blog about my daily events? If so, today was a little boring... I got up, cleaned the apartment, did some laundry, exchanged some pants at Kohl's and spend $111 at Costco. The highlight of the day was definitely the Steelers game (they destroyed the Chargers 35-24 btw!) and our mini party we had. Hopefully I can come up with more exciting stuff to blog about in the future. Peace!
